This is a good book to start off the New Year with.
Book 1 of The Edge series
Rose lives alone, with her two young brothers. They live in the Edge, the place between the Magic world of the Weird and the non magic world of the Broken. Years prior, she made a mistake, by showing she could make a powerfull flash of magic. Since then she could trust no man not to want to marry her for breeding, try and sell her to a Blueblood of Weird or just try and take her as a mistress. Then strange creatures start hunting in the Edge and Rose has to accept help from a blueblood man, Declan, from the magical realm to protect her family. However, Declan also claims he wants her too. So the story is based around Declan trying to woe Rose and help her young brothers with their magical traits. And destroy the man who created the monsters that hunt in the Edge, to stop him from feeding on others with magic. Rose and Declan are strong characters and I liked how magic was used. Interesting world created too, with the idea of different levels of magical abilities, and that the Broken takes away all their magic.

I loved this book, it's a sweet adventure-romance. A world that's the complete opposite of ours. Where instead of technology there's magic. :)
