Remy gets a strange client, a woman who's daughter has been abducted by her father.
However, the little girl draws pictures, of the future and Remy is there, with his dog Marlowe and with his wings.
Intrigued he goes in search of the little girl. And learns he's not the only one that wants her. Delilah also seeks the little girl because a small part of the creation of life is hiding within her body. Delihah was cursed by God to outlive all she loved, and she's lived since her betrayal of Samson.
Remy also finds Samson still roaming the earth and his children, because the only thing he lives for is the end of Delihah. And if that wasn’t enough, a lessor God - Dagon - also gets a taste of the Power that resides within this little girl.
Remy is up against a God, and powerful human's cursed by his God. So there is plenty of fighting in this book. I liked Delihah's power to drive human's to do her bidding, even to death. She eats the souls of the living and creates a few macarbe scenes. Not quite as interesting as earlier books, but still a good read. Remy is still a favourite character though, and I hope to see him move on from his grieving in future books
